Thermodynamic disc steam trap
I. Introduction:
The TD42 thermal power disc type steam trap has a valve disc inside, which serves as both a sensitive component and an actuation component. When the device starts up, cooling condensate appears in the pipeline, and the condensate pushes open the valve disc by the working pressure and is discharged quickly. When the condensate is completely discharged, steam enters the steam trap. The volume of steam expands rapidly, and the flow rate of steam is higher than that of condensate, creating a pressure difference between the upper and lower parts of the valve disc. The valve disc closes rapidly under the suction of the steam flow. When the valve disc is closed, it is subjected to pressure from both sides. The force-bearing area under the valve disc is smaller than that above it. Since the pressure inside the steam chamber of the steam trap comes from the steam pressure, the force on the upper part of the valve disc is greater than that on the lower part, so the valve disc closes tightly. When the steam in the steam chamber of the trap cools down and turns into condensate, the pressure inside the steam chamber disappears. The condensate pushes open the valve disc by the working pressure and continues to be discharged, forming a cyclic operation with intermittent drainage.
